The waters for making Cuillin ales are drawn from the river who's source is just above Coire a Bhasteir, the waters running down from the Cuillin gathering minerals and peat on their way to Sligachan where the slightly peated waters are used to give Cuillin beers their distinctive flavour and colouring .
